Rains Lash Rajasthan, Karauli Records Maximum Rainfall In 24 Hrs

Karauli was the wettest in the state noting 80 mm rainfall. Gadra Road of Barmer in western Rajasthan recorded 32.5 mm rains.

Torrential rains continued to lash various parts of Rajasthan on Wednesday, painting the desert state in shades of grey as dark clouds loomed overhead. The relentless downpour brought much-needed respite to the arid landscapes, with Karauli district emerging as the recipient of the heaviest rainfall over the last 24 hours, according to the meteorological department.

The Meteorological Centre in Jaipur reported that the skies opened up in the past 24 hours till 8.30 am on Wednesday, bringing light to moderate showers to some areas in western Rajasthan, while eastern Rajasthan experienced heavy rains. Karauli, drenched and soaked, recorded a substantial 80 mm of rainfall, making it the wettest place in the state during this period. 

Meanwhile, Gadra Road in Barmer, situated in the western part of Rajasthan, witnessed a downpour of 32.5 mm. The rain not only brought a temporary reprieve from the scorching heat but also transformed the usually dry and parched terrain into a vibrant and lively landscape.
