Lucknow: Ahead of the Ram Temple inauguration on January 22, the Pasmanda Muslim Community decided that all meat shops in Uttar Pradesh's Lucknow in Bilochpura, Sadar Cantt, Faatehganj, and Laatouche Road areas will remain closed on the grand opening day.

The community leaders met Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak and submitted a memorandum for the same.

Memorandum submitted All India Jamiatul Quraish

This news development comes days after all meat shops in Jaipur's Municipal Corporation (JMC) Heritage area will remain closed on the inauguration date. This is because the meat ban in Rajasthan on Jain festivals is not new as all meat shops and slaughterhouses remain closed on such occasions. The pink city has over 3,000 meat shops.

The grand opening ceremony is scheduled to take place on January 22 and will be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, all cabinet ministers and other delegates.
