Satish Kumar Becomes New Railway Board Chairman, Tenure To End In August 2025
Satish Kumar's tenure as Railway Board Chairman will run till August 31, 2025. He is currently serving as Member in Railway Board.
New Delhi: Indian Railway Management Service (IRMS) officer, Satish Kumar is set to take charge as the new Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Indian Railway Board as the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved his appointment to the post with effect from September 1.
Kumar's tenure as Railway Board Chairman will run till August 31, 2025.
Satish Kumar took over the charge of Member (Traction & Rolling Stock) in Railway Board in the Ministry of Railways on January 5 this year.
Jaya Varma Sinha To Take Charge As CAT Member
Meanwhile, Railway Board Chairperson and CEO Jaya Varma Sinha will take charge as an administrative member of the Central Administrative Tribunal following her retirement on August 31. She was the first woman to head the Railway board in Railways 170-year history.
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal of the Department of Personnel and Training for the appointment of Sinha and 11 others in the Central Administrative Tribunal.
According to the Railway Board, she will retire on August 31st from the Board and after that will join CAT as an administrative member.
