Raymond’s Managing Director Gautam Singhania’s estranged wife Nawaz Modi has levelled allegations against him claiming that he assaulted her and one of their daughters on September 9. She further added Singhania assaulted her three times during their tumultuous relationship over the years.

In the response to the allegation, legal experts representing the Raymond MD said he is mulling to take a legal recourse to counter the accusations by his wife. Singhania issuing a statement expressed the desire to maintain his family’s dignity, however, refrained from making further comments.

The acrimony between Modi and Singhania came to the fore after the video surfaced of Singhania’s wife Modi being denied entry to a Diwali party of the company. Immediately after, Singhania declared his separation with his wife on social media. According to reports, Modi has demanded a compensation of 75 percent of the net worth of Singhania after the separation.

Nawaz has reportedly sought 75 per cent of Raymond Group's Rs 11,000-crore empire. This is not the first time that the Singhania family has been in the news. Gautam Singhania was earlier in the news after his father Vijaypat Singhania went on record alleging mistreatment and cheating. The elder Singhania had accused son Gautam of unceremoniously kicking him out of the company offices.
