Senior IAS Officer Anurag Jain Appointed As Madhya Pradesh Chief Secretary
Senior Indian Administrative Service officer Anurag Jain has been appointed as Chief Secretary of Madhya Pradesh on Monday.
Bhopal: Senior Indian Administrative Service officer Anurag Jain has been appointed as Chief Secretary of Madhya Pradesh on Monday.
He will succeed Veera Rana, an officer from the 1988 batch, who received two six-month extensions.
Anurag Jain To Become 35th Chief Secretary of MP
Jain will become the 35th Chief Secretary of Madhya Pradesh and is expected to retire on August 31 of next year, according to the state government's public relations department.
Prior to this, the 1989 batch IAS officer was posted as Secretary in the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.
Anurag Jain’s Previous Stints
Jain was posted as Joint secretary in the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) as well as collector of several important districts in MP, including Bhopal, during his bureaucratic career.
He was secretary to former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan two times. He also headed the finance department in the MP govt in 2019 under Kamal Nath ’s tenure.
From December 2013 to February 2014, Jain served as the acting chairman-managing director of the Export-Import Bank of India (EXIM Bank).
