Six Including Sister Arrested for Forcing a 14-Year-Old Girl into Prostitution

Chennai: Six people were arrested while two others were detained by the Chennai police for forcing a 14-year-old girl into prostitution. The girl's sister was among the people arrested by the police.

The six people were identified as Lakshmi, Prakash, Damodharan, Kavita, Karpagam and Srinivasan. 

According to the police, the sister and her mother-in-law forced her into prostitution and used to take her to various locations, including KK Nagar and Chengalpattu.

The police were made aware  by a child welfare committee in Chengalpattu, post which a special team was formed by Selaiyur All Women Police and the girl was rescued.

Two more suspects have been detained and are being questioned in relation to the case.

Further investigation is underway.
