Sleeper Vande Bharat coach prototype was unveiled at the Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML) facility in Bengaluru on Sunday. The inauguration is expected in December. The Vande Bharat sleeper train will include 16 coaches tailored for overnight trips covering 800 to 1,200 kilometers. Upgraded features will offer better oxygen levels and enhanced virus protection. The Vande Bharat Sleeper variant will have better average speed compared to the Rajdhani Express. The sleeper train is likely to run at an average speed of 160 kmph, while the testing speed will be 180 kmph.

The Sleeper Vande Bharat train has GFRP panels,  a sensor-based interior, automatic exterior passenger doors, an ergonomically designed odour-free toilet system, communication doors, and a spacious luggage room. 

Vande Bharat Coaches 

Vande Bharat Sleeper will have number of coaches which includes 4 AC 2 tier coaches having 188 berths, 11 AC 3 tier coaches having 611 berths, and 1 AC First Class Coach having 24 berths. 

Vande Bharat Sleeper Train Ticket Price 

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw while unveiling the prototype of the much-anticipated Vande Bharat sleeper coach at BEML's facility in Bengaluru said that the ticket pricing for the Vande Bharat sleeper will be on par with Rajdhani fares. "Vande Bharat sleeper is for all middle-class families. The fare structure will be benchmarked to Rajdhani and will be reasonable, keeping middle-class families in mind," he said. 

Rajdhani Express is a premium, fully air-conditioned train service connecting New Delhi with state capitals across India.
