'Struggling With Financial Crisis', Ayodhya Engineer Robs, Shoots Cab Driver in Delhi, Held

Ayodhya Engineer Robs Cab Driver in Delhi Over 'Financial Crisis', Held | Image: pexels

New Delhi: Police arrested a man for allegedly looting and shooting at a cab driver in the national capital as he was facing a "financial crisis". The accused has been identified as Aryan Rajvansh, a resident of Ayodhya.  

The accused, who describes himself as an engineer, a rapper and a YouTuber, told cops that despite trying, his career failed to take off that's why he committed robbery. 

Dwarka Mor-Kashmiri Gate Ride

On June 25, the accused booked a ride from Delhi's Dwarka Mor to Kashmiri Gate bus stand. While the cab was heading towards the drop point, the accused pointed a pistol at the driver and looted him of his mobile and cash in Amar Nath Colony. 

The victim driver has been identified as Kulbhushan Sharma. 

According to sources, when the car's fuel got low, the driver stopped the cab at the petrol pump in Srinivas Puri area that's when the accused looted the driver. Frightened, the driver got out of the car somehow and tried to flee the scene but the accused shot at him, leaving him injured. 

During interrogation, the accused told police that he became a rapper after he failed to get a job even after pursuing engineering in computer science. He added that he robbed the driver as he was going through a “financial crisis” as his career as a rapper also failed to take off. 

After receiving the call about the shooting incident on June 23 at around 1.30 am, a police team rushed to the spot and found the Ola cab. The cab driver had been shifted to a hospital by then. 

Police Scan CCTVs

The police had registered a case in this regard and launched a probe. During investigation, they scanned all the CCTVs installed on the route taken by the cab. They also checked the booking details of the accused in the Ola app, which provided them significant leads about the accused, revealing his name and native place. Subsequently, he was arrested from Ayodhya.
