Telangana: A railway track between Kesamudram and Mahabubabad has been washed away due to continuous heavy rainfall in the region.
The affected area is near Thalapusapalli railway station in Kesamudram Mandal of Mahabubabad district.
Several trains, including those traveling from Vijayawada to Warangal, Warangal to Vijayawada, and Delhi to Vijayawada, have been diverted or cancelled as due to this reason.
Telangana has been experiencing heavy rains across several areas for the past two days, resulting in significant inundation of low-lying regions and disrupting road connections between villages.
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has urgently called on all government departments to remain vigilant and take proactive measures to prevent any untoward incidents.
The heavy rains have caused rivulets to overflow in districts including Mahabubabad, Narayanpet, and Khammam, leading to road disruptions.
To address the situation, Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari and DGP Jitender held a teleconference with district collectors, SPs, and other officials. They have been instructed to continuously assess the situation and take necessary actions.
