Three Students Drown in Newly Inaugurated Flood Carrier Channel

Three students from a diocesan-run school, situated on the outskirts of Palayamkottai, tragically drowned in a newly inaugurated flood carrier channel on Sunday.

The incident occurred in the Thamirabarani-Karu Maniyar-Nambiyar river linking project under the Munnirpallam police station limits. The victims had come to the area to attend a housewarming ceremony of a relative. 

During their visit, they decided to take a bath in the nearby channel, which led to the unfortunate drowning. Upon receiving the distress call, Fire and Rescue services personnel swiftly responded and recovered the bodies of the three students. 

The Munnirpallam police have registered a case and are conducting an investigation into the incident.
