Three TRF terrorist associates arrested in J&K’s Srinagar
Three hand grenades, 10 pistol rounds, 25 AK-47 rounds and other incriminating materials were also recovered from their possession.

Srinagar Police arrested three active associates of The Resistance Front (TRF) outfit in Natipora area on Friday. The arrested persons have been identified as Imran Ahmad Najar of Bulbul Bagh Baramulla, Waseem Ahmad Matta of Qamarwari Srinagar and Wakeel Ahmad Bhat of Pazalpora Bijbehara.
“Wakeel is a former terrorist of Islamic State Jammu and Kashmir (ISJK) outfit and was also lodged in jail for two years. He was recently released on bail from Central Jail Srinagar,” said Jammu and Kashmir Police official.
The preliminary investigation revealed that the trio had collected the explosive substances and ammunition from active terrorists of TRF for carrying terrorist activities in Srinagar city, however the tragedy was averted due to an alert team of police.
“A small team of Srinagar police established a checkpoint at Harnabal Natipora area where the trio got arrested. Three hand grenades, 10 pistol rounds, 25 AK-47 rounds and other incriminating materials were also recovered from their possession," he said.

“A case has been registered under FIR number 46/23 under section 3/4 Explosive Act, 7/25 Arms Act, 18, 23, 39 UAPA Act at Police Station Chanapora and investigation has been set into motion," he added.
Baramulla police booked 5 most-wanted drug smugglers
Five most wanted and notorious drug smugglers identified as Gulzar Ahmad Ganai of Chijhama Rafiabad, Ghulam Mohi u din Dar of Ladoora Rafiabad, Waheed Sultan Ganai alias Raj Don of Shirpora Pattan, Ajaz Ahmad Gojri alias Ajaz Mughal of Malpora Pattan and Atiqullah Lone of Tujjar Sharief Sopore have been booked under Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (PIT-NDPS) Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent authority.

On August 1, in a major crackdown against anti-national activities and terror funding in Jammu and Kashmir, the State Investigation Agency, an executive wing of J&K Police attached an immovable property (land) in the Kupwara district of North Kashmir.
The investigating agency attached the properties of an Al-Barq terrorist identified as Abdul Rashid Qureshi alias Farooq Qureshi who presently is operating from Pakistan. Rashid, a terrorist hiding in Pakistan, was originally a resident of the village Kachama, Kralpora in Kupwara of North Kashmir.
