Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Speaker Rahul Narwekar responded to Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray's statement, saying, "I don't consider it important to comment on baseless allegations.”

He was responding to Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray’s comment, wherein Thackeray had said that the Speaker of the Maharashtra Assembly is no longer a speaker, now he is working on the role of a tribal. 
 

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has directed the administration to ensure the safe return of 35 Odia workers reported to be held captive in Laos. As per the direction of the Chief Minister, the Labour Commissioner has taken up the issue with the Indian embassy in Laos. The Embassy authorities have informed that they are in touch with the labourers and all necessary steps will be taken for their safe return to India: CMO Odisha.

Minister of State for External Affairs, V Muraleedharan on Friday visited the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) control room set up in New Delhi, which has been established to monitor the Government of India’s operation in Israel, ‘Operation Ajay’.

An official of the India Army on Friday said that a major IED attack on the Srinagar-Kupwara Highway averted J&K’s Handwara. The official said, “A High-powered IED connected with three 10-kilogram LPG cylinders was spotted by an alert road opening party near Langait, on the National Highway that connects Kupwara with Srinagar. 
The official added that almost 1000 civil vehicles and 200 defence vehicles crossed the spot where the IED was planted. The IED was detected by the column of the Air Defence Unit (ADU) present in the area.

Andhra Pradesh High Court grants anticipatory bail to former Chief Minister and TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu in the Angallu 307 case. 

What is Angallu 307 case?

The Angallu case involves an incident where the YSRCP-led Andhra Pradesh government registered a police case against TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu and several TDP leaders, accusing them of instigating an attack on its local leaders.

The case alleges that Naidu and other TDP leaders played a role in allegedly inciting violence on YSRCP leaders, who had gone to submit a representation to the former CM at Angallu village in August. Naidu is booked for an attempt to murder (Section 307 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) among other sections in the case.

Aam Aadmi Party Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh moved Delhi High Court challenging his arrest in Delhi liquor scam case. He has also challenged the remand granted to him by the trial court. The court will hear the matter on Friday, October 13.
