Trichy Airport Director's Statement On Air India Flight IX613 Declaring Emergency
Air India confirmed the situation in a statement, noting, “Air India flight from Trichy to Sharjah faced a technical problem (hydraulic failure)."
Chennai: An Air India flight en route from Trichy to Sharjah encountered a hydraulic failure on Thursday and is currently circling in the air to reduce fuel before making an emergency landing back at Trichy Airport.

The airline confirmed the situation in a statement, noting, “Air India flight from Trichy to Sharjah faced a technical problem (hydraulic failure) and is rounding in airspace to decrease the fuel before landing at Trichy airport.”
In preparation for the landing, more than 20 ambulances and fire tenders have been deployed at the airport to ensure passenger safety and to prevent any potential accidents, according to Trichy Airport Director Gopalakrishnan.
