UP Woman Tortured For Refusing 'Physical Relations' With Mother-in-Law

New Delhi: In a shocking incident in Uttar Pradesh's Agra, a woman has accused her husband and in-laws of torture and harassment. In the FIR filed, the woman also revealed that he was pressurised to have physical relations with her mother-in-law.

The woman married her husband identified as Alok Updadhyayu in 2022, a resident of Ghaipur and the abuse began soon after that, as per media reports.

The woman also alleged that on refusing her mother-in-law's demand of "physical relation," she was attacked with a blade which caused five gashes in her arm.

The woman also alleged that her sister-in-law confiscated all her clothes, forcing her to wear the same garments while being confined to her room. The reports also state that the woman faced constant demands for dowry and physical abuse.

The torture escalated after the woman gave birth to her son last year after her husband allegedly asked for the child's legitimacy and physically assaulted her. She was then thrown out of the house.

She later moved to her father's house in Agra. However, a month later she was contacted by her mother-in-law urging for a compromise for discussion, but the meeting ended in a scuffle and prompting them to leave again.

The police is currently looking into the matter.
