Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu: A video has been going viral on social media where a high-tension tower situated in the middle of a river can be seen tilting dangerously and is on the verge of sinking following heavy rainfall. The incident occurred on Thursday night, with the river’s water levels rising above the danger mark.

Electricity department workers were engaged in emergency repairs of the tower, using ropes to reach the structure amidst the turbulent waters. The strong current posed a risk, as falling into the river could result in being swept away.

Compounding the danger, the local dam had recently released excess water, further intensifying the river’s flow. Officials are currently investigating the incident and coordinating rescue efforts. The situation remains critical as efforts to recover the workers continue.
