A young woman in Hidalgo, Mexico, lost her life tragically after being struck by a vintage train while attempting to take a selfie. The incident, has sent shockwaves across social media platforms as a video capturing the fatal moment gains traction.
According to local reports, the woman, identified to be in her 20s, was among a group of people gathered to photograph a historic steam engine train known as the 'Empress' as it passed by. Positioned dangerously close to the tracks, she attempted to snap a photo with the approaching train, unaware of the imminent danger.

The chilling video depicts the woman, wearing an orange top, preparing for the selfie alongside a child. As the train approaches, the child instinctively ducks down while the woman remains focused on the photo. Tragically, she drops to one knee just as the corner of the train's engine strikes her on the back of her head, sending her crashing forward.
Despite the swift intervention of a nearby man who managed to pull her away from the passing train, the woman succumbed to her injuries on the spot.

The 'Empress', officially named Canadian Pacific 2816, is a historic steam locomotive built in 1930. It embarked on a special journey as part of the Final Spike Steam Tour, celebrating the merger that formed Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC). However, the tour has been overshadowed by this tragic event.
In response to the incident, CPKC issued a statement expressing regret and emphasizing the importance of safety around railway tracks. They urged the public to maintain a safe distance of at least 10 meters from the tracks at all times and to refrain from attempting risky maneuvers such as taking selfies near moving trains.
