Bahraich: As the wolf terror continues in Uttar Pradesh's Bahraich, a search operation is ongoing to capture the remaining two 'man-eating' wolves. On Saturday, forest officials conducted a drone search operation 2-3 kilometers away from Harbaksh Purwa. The wolves were located in the area on Friday night with the help of thermal drones.
The entire region is on high alert as the area is being divided into four sectors for continuous monitoring.
The affected area of 30-35 kilometers has been segmented into four sectors, with 165 forest personnel, including senior officers, deployed for the search operation.
The Forest Department, Police Department, and District Administration have teamed up to conduct night patrols in the affected areas, resulting in a zero-incident record so far.
General Manager of the Forest Department, Sanjay Pathak, stated that following the recent attacks and casualties, the area is under high vigilance by forest officials and other authorities.
“The forest officials and other officials have been on alert after the reported casualties. Drones are being used to locate the wolves. Four wolves have been captured so far, and cameras have been installed everywhere to track their movements,” said Pathak.

However, Pathak also noted that tracking the wolves has been challenging, with 90 percent of the information received from the public being false.
“We have received numerous reports from people about wolf sightings, but 90 percent of this information is false. I urge the public to only report genuine sightings to avoid exhausting search teams and missing the actual opportunity to capture the wolves,” he added.
Speaking to ANI, Renu Singh, Chief Conservator of Forest Central Zone, said that all resources for wolf rescue are being monitored, and instructions have been given to minimize response time in case of wolf sightings. Thermal drones are being used to locate the wolves.
“All resources for wolf rescue are being monitored, and instructions are given to minimize response time in case of wolf sightings. The Forest Department, Police Department, and District Administration have coordinated to conduct night patrols in the affected areas, resulting in no incidents at night. Thermal drones are used to locate the wolves,” stated Singh.
The search operations follow a series of attacks by wolves in Bahraich district, which have resulted in twelve deaths, including ten children, over the past two months. Additionally, around three dozen people have been injured, with about 20 of them sustaining serious injuries.
