Who Is American Deep State Agent In India? Asks Arnab

New Delhi: Amid a row over whether United State's deep state tried to interfere in the Indian elections, Republic TV's Editor-In-Chief Arnab Goswami on the debate asked who is American deep state agent in India today?

The issue surfaced after a journalist asked a US White House spokesperson, “One of the senior Russian official said that US is trying to interfere elections in the India?” The White House spokesperson responded saying, “Its a ridiculous claim.”

Responding to Arnab's question, Professor Madhav Nalapat said, “It’s no secret that they don’t like Prime Minister Narendra Modi , it’s no secret.”

“I actually believe there has been a consistent effort to influence the Indian elections but it's the job of the government of India like the Americans are doing and making public allegations against the Russians, like this, it's the job of the government of India to crackdown,” said political analyst Sushant Sareen.

Sharing his views on the topic, political analyst Dr Akash Deep Muni said, “Prime Minister spoke about foreign people interfering in Indian elections in May and we are in September now but there has not been a single evidence put up by the government or the PMO or the ME. Interestingly, if there is a deep state interference, I think by now, there should have been a statement by the MEA. Is the interference is only though media channels or its financial. If it’s financial then the ED or other agencies must interference and find out.”

“Politics does not change the fact that the US wants to control India,” Savio Rodrigues, Founder and Editor-In-Chief Goa Chronicle said.

Putting his thoughts forward, political analyst Pulla Rao said, “President of Mexico... they may be putting their fingers here and there but are they competent enough to be taken seriously? I don't think so. I don't think they will jeopardise all the defence agreements signed by the Modi government with them in the last 6 years. We've to take a balanced view on this issue.”

Responding to Rao's comment, Madhav Nalapat said, “Pulla Rao will tell you how the Governor of New York, and various other politicians are found to be Chinese spies. Don't tell us the US is incompetent... sometime if you're a giant, and very clumsy, a lot of crystal gets broken. If you say the US is big, it's clumsy, I agree with you... is breaking a lot of cutlery.”

“It's time to make our own standards to judge actions by other countries,” said Sushant Sareen later said.

As the debate progressed, Advocate Kapil Madan asked, “What are the Americans doing? How is there an interference? Are you trying to suggest they're hacking EVMs? Or if there are over 60% of the people who have rejected the BJP , are you trying to suggest that all the 60% of the population are working at the behest of the Americans.”
