New Delhi: A 25-year-old woman was allegedly strangled to death by her live-in partner in northeast Delhi's Nand Nagri area, police said on Sunday. The incident came to light late on Saturday night, when the police received a call reporting a suspected murder around 11 PM.
The deceased woman, who had been living with an autorickshaw driver named Anar Singh for the past four months, was found hanging in the bathroom by her younger brother, Golu. Both Golu and Singh, who had been staying with her, rushed her to GTB Hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead.
According to police sources, the woman's husband had previously passed away due to an illness, after which she began residing with Singh. Police is now probing Singh’s possible involvement in her death, as police believe he may have strangled her.
"Singh is suspected to have killed the woman. Her younger brother Golu, also used to reside with her. Golu saw her hanging in the bathroom and took her to the GTB Hospital with Anar Singh where she was declared brought dead," police said.
