Mumbai: Shocking details have been revealed in the probe of the Worli Hit-And-Run Case in which son of Shiv Sena leader Rajesh Shah rammed his BMW in a scooter, killing a 45-year-old woman.
As the probe in the case continues, it has been revealed that the main accused, Mihir Shah had switched seats with the driver, Rajshri Bidawat after the accident.
Spine-chilling details according to the investigation in the Worli Hit-and-Run Case reveal that the accused changed seats with the driver, Rajshri Bidawat after the accident and it was the driver who mowed down the woman twice.
It was the son of Shiv Sena leader who was driving when he rammed his luxury car into a scooter, injuring Pradip Nakhwa and killing his wife Kaveri Nakhwa.
A CCTV footage by the Mumbai Police reveals that the accident caused the deceased to be dragged with the car for about 1.5 kilometres.
After this, Shah stopped the car and together, he and his driver removed the woman from the bonnet and placed her on the road.
It was the driver who then reversed the car and mowed down the woman twice; according to Mumbai Police, this was an attempt to ‘mislead the investigation’.
According to PTI, “They sped towards Kala Nagar where the vehicle's engine stalled. Mihir Shah then called his father Rajesh Shah from Rajrishi Bidawat's phone and told him about the accident as well as the car stalling. Rajesh Shah arrived at the spot in a Mercedes, spoke to Mihir Shah and asked him to escape. Later, Rajesh Shah planned to tow the BMW from there.”
Shiv Sena leader Rajesh Shah, father of Mihir Shah, a fugitive in the Worli hit-and-run case has been granted bail on a provisional cash bond of ₹15,000.
The politician had made several calls to his son after the accident and according to the police, he played a role in helping his son run away; Mumbai Police has issued an LoC against Mihir Shah.
The driver, Rajshri Bidawat was sent to a one-day judicial custody by the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (Sewree court), S P Bhosale.
