New Delhi: YSR Congress Party's under construction office in Andhra Pradesh's Tadepalli was demolished during early hours on Saturday, June 22. Former Andhra Pradesh CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has accused ruling Telugu Desam Party of indulging in vendetta politics, as he called upon the leaders to condemn the incident.

YSRCP's central office in Tadepalli was demolished during early hours on Saturday by the officials of Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) and Mangalagiri Tadepalli Municipal Corporation (MTMC), in the presence of state police. Around 4 earthmover was used to remove the structure.

Responding to the same, the YSRCP said that the demolition was carried out despite a halt order by Andhra Pradesh high court. “TDP is doing vendetta politics. The demolition proceeded even though the YSRCP had approached the High Court the previous day, challenging the preliminary actions of the AP CRDA (Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority). The court had ordered a halt to any demolition activity. Demolition of YSRCP office building is in defiance of High Court orders,” said the party in a statement.

Jagan Calls Naidu Dictator

Responding to the demolition, Jagan Mohan Reddy called sitting CM and TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu a dictator, alleging that the court order was defied in the process. “A dictator bulldozed the nearly completed central office at Tadepalli. The orders of the High Court were ignored. Law and justice have completely disappeared in the state. I request all the democrats of the country to condemn the misdeeds of Chandrababu,” said Jagan Reddy in a post on X.

“Law and justice have completely disappeared in the state. We will fight hard on behalf of the people, for the people and with the people,” he added.

Rules Being Followed, Says TDP

The ruling-TDP dismissed the charges levelled by Jagan Mohan Reddy. TDP leader Pattabhi Ram Kommareddy said that action was taken as per the law of the land, adding that the USRCP's office was being constructed without taking necessary permissions from the concerned department.

“As per the law and prevailing rules, any illegal construction needs to be demolished. Today, the party office of YSRCP which is being built illegally without obtaining any permissions from the concerned departments is being demolished as per the rules. This has nothing to do with any kind of political vendetta as the YSRCP is alleging,” said TDP leader Pattabhi Ram Kommareddy , as quoted by ANI.

“First, they should answer whether the constitution which they have taken up has the required permissions or not...TDP and Nara Chandrababu Naidu have never followed the path of political vendetta...” he added.

Illegal Structures at Jagan's House Demolished

Earlier, unauthorised structures at the residence of Jagan Mohan Reddy was demolished. Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) on Saturday demolished certain structures on pavement adjacent to the Lotus Pond residence of Reddy. The demolition works were carried out 10 days after Reddy stepped down as chief minister of the neighbouring state.

While the GHMC town plannng said that it has initimidated about the illegal structure six months back, YSRCP told PTI that the structures were purely temporary and made for the convenience of security personnel during rain and summer.
