Bhagalpur-Howrah Vande Bharat Train to Reduce Travel Time: Check Routes, Stops, and Schedule
The new Vande Bharat Express will enhance connectivity between Bhagalpur and Howrah, operating 6 days a week at an average speed of 81 km/h.
Bhagalpur: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the new Vande Bharat Express on September 15, 2024. This train will enhance connectivity from Bhagalpur to Howrah, a major metropolitan hub. The inauguration ceremony will take place at Bhagalpur station, with the Prime Minister participating via video conference.
The Bhagalpur-Howrah Vande Bharat Express will operate six days a week, covering the distance of 458 km (285 miles) in just 5 hours and 40 minutes, achieving an average speed of 81 km/h. The service is set to commence on September 18, running daily except Thursdays.

- Departure from Bhagalpur: 06:50 hrs
- Hansdiha: 07:30 hrs
- Dumka: 08:10 hrs
- Banka: 08:50 hrs
- Godda: 09:30 hrs
- Arrival at Howrah: 12:30 hrs
Howrah to Bhagalpur Vande Bharat Express Train Schedule:
- Departure from Howrah: 15:15 hrs
- Godda: 17:00 hrs
- Banka: 17:45 hrs
- Dumka: 18:30 hrs
- Hansdiha: 19:10 hrs
- Arrival at Bhagalpur: 20:00 hrs
The new rail section has significantly improved over the years. Previously, the track speed was restricted to just 15 km/h between Bhagalpur and Mandarhill due to its poor condition. With the recent upgrades, including the addition of new lines and improved track categories, the speed has now increased to 110 km/h, allowing for high-speed trains to operate on this route.
The Vande Bharat Express will join several other trains on this upgraded line, including the Godda-New Delhi Humsafar Express, Godda-Patna Intercity, Godda-Ranchi Express, Tata Nagar Express, Kavi Guru Express, Banka Intercity, and Agartala Express.
