In a momentous celebration of cultural diversity and religious expression, the city of Brampton, Canada, is gearing up for the grand unveiling of the tallest lord Hanuman statue in the country on the upcoming Hanuman Jayanti, scheduled for April 23 next year.
The 55-foot tall Hanuman Statue in Brampton is the creation of internationally acclaimed sculptor Naresh Kumawat, known for his monumental works that span across various countries, including England, the US, Australia, Poland, Mauritius, Seychelles, Dubai, Oman, and Russia. Kumawat's portfolio includes iconic figures such as Swami Vivekananda, Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King, and Nelson Mandela.
This colossal statue of Lord Hanuman is set to find its permanent home at the Hindu Sabha Mandir in Brampton. The unveiling ceremony promises to be a significant event, drawing devotees, art enthusiasts, and members of the local community alike.
What sets this project apart is not only its towering height, making it the tallest representation of a Hindu deity in Canada, but also the fact that it is entirely funded by the local temple management. Naresh Kumawat is also famous for the 75-foot Samudra Manthan mural at the new Parliament building, Central Vista in Delhi. Some of his previous monumental works are registered in Guinness Book of World Records, the statue of belief in Nathdwara, Rajasthan, which stands at an impressive 369 feet, and other one the 156-foot tall Lord Hanuman statue which is in Solan, Himachal Pradesh, are listed in Limca Book of Records.He had also crafted a 108-foot Lord Hanuman statue placed at the Jakhu temple in Shimla.
