FASTag Must Be Visible: Violators May Face Double Penalties - Details Inside
The ministry has mandated that FASTags must be visibly affixed on the windshield of vehicles and any non-compliance will result in hefty penalties.

Info: In a bid to streamline toll plaza operations and ensure a smoother driving experience for all, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has issued a stern warning to FASTag violators.
The ministry has mandated that FASTags must be visibly affixed on the windshield of vehicles and any non-compliance will result in hefty penalties.
According to the official order, deliberately not displaying a FASTag on the windscreen leads to unnecessary delays at toll plazas, causing inconvenience to other road users.
Any FASTag that is not correctly affixed to the designated vehicle will be deemed ineligible for electronic toll collection (ETC) transactions. Consequently, violators will be charged double the toll fee and may also face blacklisting.
To enforce compliance, the ministry has directed issuing banks to ensure that FASTags are securely fixed to the vehicle's windshield at the time of issuance from their Point-of-Sale (POS) locations.
This move is expected to significantly reduce toll plaza congestion and improve the overall efficiency of the national highway network.
It is crucial for all vehicle owners to adhere to the new regulations to avoid penalties and contribute to a smoother driving experience for everyone.
