Pune: District Court to Swargate Underground Metro Line, Know Fare, Timings and Other Details

Pune Metro: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of various projects of Rs 11,200 crore in Maharashtra via video conference.

The recent inauguration of the underground extension from Swargate to Katraj marks a significant step forward in Pune's metro development. This 5.46 km stretch, featuring three stations - Market Yard, Padmavati, and Katraj - will significantly enhance connectivity to areas like Padmavati, Balaji Nagar, Dhankawadi, and Katraj.

Pune Metro Phase 1

Phase 1 of the Pune Metro project encompasses two lines, PCMC to Swargate and Vanaz to Ramwadi. The completion of the underground section from District Court Metro Station to Swargate has now connected densely populated areas of Pune, such as Kasba Peth, Budhwar Peth, Mandai, and Swargate, to the metro network. This new route offers a convenient and efficient travel option for commuters.

Key Benefits of the Extension

Improved Accessibility: The extension will provide better access to popular landmarks like Lal Mahal, Shaniwar Wada, and Kasba Ganapati, as well as commercial areas like Mahatma Phule Mandai, Tulshi Baug, Bhandi Market, and Dagdusheth Ganapati Temple.

Multi-Modal Integration: Swargate Underground Metro Station's proximity to the ST Station and PMPML Bus Depot will create a seamless transfer point for passengers traveling by various modes of transportation.

Economic Boost: The metro expansion is expected to boost businesses in the areas it serves, attracting more visitors and commuters.

In addition to the metro expansion, the Prime Minister also inaugurated Solapur Airport, conducted the Bhumi Pujan for the Bhidewada Memorial in Pune, and dedicated the Bidkin project to the nation. These projects collectively demonstrate the government's commitment to infrastructure development and regional growth.
