Haridwar: On the auspicious occasion of Holi , a special ‘Holi Utsav Yajna and Floral Holi’ was organized at Patanjali University’s sports ground under the guidance of the University’s Chancellor Swami Ramdev and Vice-Chancellor Acharya Balkrishna. On this occasion, the Rishis wished all citizens a prosperous Vasant Navsasyeshti (spring harvest).

During the Holi Utsav, Swami Ramdev said that Holi is not just a festival of colors and joy, but also a symbol of social harmony, love, brotherhood, and the victory of good over evil. He urged everyone to resolve that we should not be burdened by self-blame, self-forgetfulness, or self-deception. We should continue to walk on the path of truth, the eternal path, the Vedic path, the Rishi path, and the path of purity, constantly climbing new steps and achieving progress. He emphasized that every festival of our Sanatan culture is celebrated with yoga and yajna, which are the core elements of our culture and soul. Swami Ji also appealed to the citizens to not let the harmony of the festival be ruined by intoxication, as it is harmful to society.

On this occasion, Acharya Balkrishna said that Holi is a festival of renouncing ego. It is a festival of burning the demonic emotions within us, symbolized by the burning of Holika. He urged everyone to forget their differences and come together in the spirit of brotherhood to make this auspicious festival meaningful. He also appealed to the citizens to celebrate Holi with complete purity and avoid using cow dung, mud, and chemical colors. He emphasized that using chemical-based colors can lead to serious eye and skin diseases.

Acharya Ji also shared some precautions to be taken before playing Holi. He recommended applying mustard oil, coconut oil, or cold cream on open parts of the body before playing Holi, as this helps reduce the chances of harmful chemical colors damaging the skin.

The event was attended by all the officials and staff members of Patanjali University, as well as the heads of all affiliated units, department heads, faculty members, students, employees, and monks and nuns associated with Patanjali.
