For the longest time the poreless all-matte look has been all the rage right from the runways to the fashion magazines with several celebrities swearing by the fuss-free aesthetic. However, as it goes with every trend in the fast-paced world of beauty trends, the matte aesthetic appears to waning out. What has replaced it instead are the lush, dewy aesthetic. The latest trend in this regard is new trend on the block - latex lips.

What are latex lips?

Put simply, latex lips are the exact opposite of matte lips. While matte lips give a more clean and uniform look also promising to last longer, there is always the threat of the final finish looking cakey and dry depending on your skin type. In contrast to the matte aesthetic, latex lips offer a much more fun and vibrant look to the lips, making them the centre of attraction. The absolute focus on shine, not only adds dimension to the lips but also makes them look plumper, even without contouring.

A simple way to go about the latest trend involves the use of four basic lip products. These include, a lip primer, lip pencil, your matte lipstick shade and a clear lip gloss. Start by applying a generous coat of your lip primer. This should be followed with lining one's lips with the lip pencil - it is highly recommended to fill the lips as well as it ensures that the colour lasts longer. Post applying the choice of your lipstick shade, go in with a generous amount of your clear gloss till you are satisfied with your ultra-shiny pout.

Ditch the nudes for bold pops of colour

The dewy aesthetic has stealthily taken over the matte bandwagon - the clean girl aesthetic being a raging example of this. However, as we enter the festive season, the blush pinks and beige nudes can be put aside in favour of richer, darker and more exciting colour options when it comes to doing up the lips.

Cherry mocha is emerging as the fall colour of the season and a shade of the same on your lips will add a luxe pop to all your festive fits.
