Diwali 2019: Perfect refreshing drink recipes to serve your guests

Diwali apart from being the festival of lights is also the time for family gatherings. Here are some refreshing drinks you can serve your guests visiting you.

Diwali is a festival of lights and sparkles. Diwali is a festival celebrated by a large number of Hindus, Sikhs, and Jains all over the world. This festival mainly relates to the triumph of good over evil and light over darkness. Diwali coincides with the Hindu New Year. The main reason why Diwali is celebrated is because on this day, Lord Rama and his wife Sita returned their kingdom from an exile after defeating the demon king Ravan in the 15th century BC.

Diwali is more like family gatherings where the family members come together to celebrate the festival with heir loved ones. People light Diyas, fireworks, make beautiful rangolis and also hang lanterns and fairy lights on their windows which is also a part of this festival. During this festival, guests are expected to visit one's home. So if guests show up, the best thing to offer them are the Diwali snacks and some refreshing drinks. For Diwali snacks, you can offer your guests chakli, chivda, laddoos etc.

Here are some Diwali mocktails to offer your guests.

Lychee Splendour

Ingredients: Lychee, Tender coconut freshwater, tender coconut flesh, Sugar if needed and some mint leaves.

Recipe: Blend some ice cubes in a blender. Add some lychee and tender coconut water, also add coconut flesh and sugar in the blender and blend the ingredients for about a minute. Garnish the drink with mint leaves. Serve the drink chilled.

Watermelon Kiwi Splash

Ingredients: Kiwi fruit, Watermelon, Lemonade, Sugar and water

Method: Blend the kiwi fruit and sugar until a smooth mixture is formed. Blend the watermelon and lemonade, add water and mix it with the kiwi fruit mixture that was made earlier. Serve the drink chilled in the glass decorated with a lemon wedge.

Banana Delight

Ingredients: Banana, Seedless dates, honey, vanilla ice cream, walnuts and raisins. 

Method: Put the banana, and the seedless dates, ice cream, honey into a blender and blend until smooth. Add the ice cubes and blend again. Pour into a glass and garnish with some crushed walnuts and raisins.

Apple Pomegranate Colada

Ingredients: Apple, pomegranates seeds, milk, ice cubes, almond slice

Blend the pomegranate seeds with milk and ice cubes. Cut the apple into small pieces and add sugar. Put the apple pieces into the serving lass and add the pomegranate shake to it. Garnish with some pomegranate seeds and almond slices.
