Significance of Maa Katyayani
The goddess is depicted with either ten, four, or eighteen hands and rides a divine Lion. In most representations, Maa Katyayani holds a sword and a lotus in her left hand, while her right hands are positioned in the Abhaya and Varada Mudras.
According to belief, Goddess Katyayani governs the planet Jupiter.
Drik Panchang explains, “According to Hindu scriptures, Goddess Parvati later incarnated as the daughter of sage Katyayana. Being the daughter of sage Katyayana, this form of Goddess Parvati is known as Goddess Katyayani.”
She is revered for destroying the demon Mahishasura and is considered one of the fiercest forms of Goddess Parvati. In this warrior form, as Drik Panchang notes, “Goddess Parvati is also known as the warrior goddess.”

The auspicious colour to wear on Day 6 of Navratri 2024 is red, symbolizing enthusiasm and love, and meant to fill the wearer with energy and vitality.
Navratri 2024 Day 6: Shubh Muhurat
As per Drik Panchang, the Brahma Muhurat on Shashti begins at 4:44 am and ends at 5:34 am. The Abhijit Muhurat starts at 11:43 am and ends at 12:28 pm, while the Vijaya Muhurat runs from 1:59 pm to 2:45 pm.
