The festive season has kicked off in India, and many houses have lit up in anticipation of the celebrations. This year, Dussehra falls on October 12, marking the victory of Lord Rama over Ravana.
During the period of Navratri , a reenactment of the Ramayana, often referred to as Ramleela, has become a tradition. It is a theatrical performance played throughout the nine days and where the final act, depicting Ravana’s defeat, is staged on Dussehra day, and large effigies of Ravana, Meghnath, and Kumbhkaran are burned across various locations to symbolize the victory of good over evil.

Ramleela Maidan is one of the most popular and oldest sites in Delhi for hosting the traditional Ramleela enactment every year. Lal Qila Maidan
According to reports, the large area of Red Fort is specifically used for Ramleela performances.
