Jini Dosa Recipe: Mumbai, the city of dreams, is a place where people from all parts of India and even across the globe come to pursue their ambitions in business, Bollywood, finance, and more. But what’s even more intriguing about Mumbai is its vibrant street food also known as khau gallis and fine dining scene, offering a variety of cuisines that cater to all kinds of palates.
In a recent survey by Time Out on “The World’s 20 Best Cities For Food Right Now,” Mumbai ranked 14th among the top cities to indulge in finger-licking food.
The survey highlights that Mumbai’s cuisine is among the healthiest, with 61% of locals describing it as ‘delicious.’
However, the true standout of the survey was the Jini Dosa from Vile Parle’s khau galli, a dish made from lentil and rice batter, stuffed with colorful vegetables, smeared with Schezwan sauce, sprinkled with grated local cheese, and served as bite-sized crispy rolls.
Besides that, if you’re an adventurer looking to explore more khau gallis in Mumbai, the recent survey also recommends the bustling neighborhoods from southern Zaveri Bazaar to northern Ghatkopar as the go-to spots for a quick and flavourful fix.
These areas offer a vibrant mix of street delicacies, from savoury chaat, jumbo sandwiches, veggie-laden ‘pizzas,’ Beirut-inspired Frankie wraps, to dry-fruit-topped falooda.
