Naomi Osaka made a striking entrance onto the court for her US Open match against Jelena Ostapenko, donning a bold neon green ensemble that turned heads. The outfit, a collaborative creation between designer Yoon and Nike, featured a ruffled dress layered with a detachable mini skirt adorned with tulle. Osaka complemented the look with a white cropped jacket adorned with a large green bow, as well as matching bow-decked accessories including sneakers and headphones. This ensemble was a tribute to both Naomi's and Yoon’s shared admiration for Japanese fashion and subcultures.

In an Instagram post, Yoon explained the inspiration behind the outfit, noting its roots in Lolita fashion—a Japanese subculture known for its nostalgic and whimsical aesthetic. “#Lolita fashion (Japanese subculture context) offers an escape from adulthood, a return to the innocence and beauty of childhood. It’s a doorway to a fantasy world where you can craft an ideal identity that may not fit everyday norms but feels perfect in this imaginative space. 🎀🤍,” the AMBUSH designer said. 

She further said, “Designing is an exercise of listening and imagining the story the athlete wants to tell. And this one is for @naomiosaka 's personal journey. Often, we see athletes as one-dimensional, tied to their sport, but I get to peel back those layers and explore the different facets of who they are and how they want to present themselves through style.”
