As the 54th edition of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) is underway in Goa, it has become the highlight for all the filming locations whether it's India or Hollywood films.  Goa and films have had a long-standing relationship as it offers a perfect beach vibe. Also, many films such as Gumnaam, Amitabh Bachchan’s debut film Saat Hindustani, Bombay to Goa, Goa Goa Gone, Dum Maaro Dum, Honeymoon Travels and Khamoshi, have been shot in Goa.

As IFFI has kicked off in Goa, here we have listed down some Goa locations that serve as perfect for shooting a film.

Film locations in Goa

Chapora Fort: Here Aamir Khan, Saif Ali Khan and Akshaye Khanna starrer Dil Chahta Hai (2001) was shot. The fort has sturdy, irregularly shaped laterite walls and offers a  perfect location to shoot some introspecting scenes.

Palolem Beach: Remember, the opening scenes in The Bourne Supremacy, yes that’s the Palolem Beach where Bourne walks around the sun-kissed beaches, bustling markets, and labyrinthine streets.

Mormugao Harbour: The fort was once equipped with 53 guns and a garrison with four officers. The historical incident involved Operation Creek, the Calcutta Light Horse's covert attack on March 9, 1943, against a German merchant ship, which had been transmitting information to U-boats from Mormugão Harbour in neutral Portugal's territory of Goa. The Sea Wolves was the first Hollywood film shot in Goa. It also premiered in Panaji, the state capital, in aid of the Goa Cancer Society. Today, the Maquinez Palace houses the Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG) which hosts the International Film Festival of India (IFFI).

Dudhsagar Waterfall: A four-tiered waterfall lies on the Goa-Karnataka border. Here Deepika Padukone starrer Chennai Express was shot here.
