Players excited for the return of fans as MLB spring training games begin

Major League Baseball is set to welcome back fans when a limited number of spectators will allowed to attend when spring training games begin on Sunday.

Players said they were excited to see fans again after playing last season in empty stadiums as a COVID-19 pandemic precaution.

But Houston Astros manager Dusty Baker questioned the rush the start spring games just over a week after full squads had arrived for pre-season training, saying it makes player evaluation harder and increases the chances of injury.
