PUBG competition runner-up pledges to donate earnings to the Indian Army

After ranking second in the South-asian Regional Finals of the PUBG Mobile Club Open Fall Split 2019, Team SouL owner Mortal made a declaration on his Facebook.

Popular professional PUBG Mobile player Naman Mathur aka 'SouL MortaL' pledged his winnings in a recent PUBGM competition to the Indian army. The declaration was made in a Facebook post by Naman which also thanked the audience for their support. Entity Gaming and Team SouL qualified for the global finals.

PUBG: Team Entity and Team SouL go through

From November 7-10, the South-Asian Regional Finals of the PUBG Mobile Club Open Fall Split 2019 took place in Delhi. Entity Gaming and Team SouL ranked in the top two spots and qualified for the Global Finals which will take place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Team SynerGE, Team INS, and Team IND ranked third, fourth, and fifth, respectively. They will have a chance to qualify for the Global finals by participating in the prelims.

Naman Mathur aka Mortal is a popular member of Team SouL and after ranking second in the tournament, Mathur made a heartfelt post addressing his fans on Facebook. In the post, Mathur congratulated the winners of the tournament and the other teams participating. He also expressed his gratefulness to the fans who supported the team at the stadium. He also dedicated the team's win to the Indian army and pledged all his winnings from the competition to the Army. Here is the full post.

The rise of E-sports

Ever since the growth of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) Mobile in 2018, India has been a hub of gamers on the rise. PUBGM has managed to legitimise E-sports or Electronic sports in India with multiple gamers making it big in International tournaments. Naman Mathur is one of these gamers. Mathur, 23, streams his PUBGM games to his massive 3.39 million subscriber audience on YouTube. Mathur is even close to eclipsing a million followers on his Instagram page. He is the owner of Team SouL
