Bronny James Can't Call LeBron 'DAD' When On The Court
LeBron James revealed that his son Bronny James cannot call him dad when the two basketball players would be at the workplace playing for the LA Lakers.
It is going to be a historic season in the NBA for LeBron James as he gets to fulfill his dream of playing in the NBA with his son Bronny James. Bronny was recently drafted by the LA Lakers, the same team his dad LeBron James plays for. Bronny was selected as the 55th overall pick in the NBA draft. This is going to be the first time an active father-son duo will play in the NBA. There was much speculation on whether Bronny would address LeBron as dad or something else when the duo steps on the court.
LeBron cleared all of the speculation regarding that recently on a podcast.
‘Cannot Call Me Dad In The Workplace’
LeBron while speaking on an episode of Uninterrupted's ‘The Shop’ revealed that Bronny cannot call him dad in the workplace.
“Once we leave out the private facility and the gates close, I could be dad again [and] in the car if we ride together, at home I could be dad. He got to call me like '2-3' or 'Bron' or, you know, 'GOAT' if he want to. It's up to him. We cannot be running down the court, and he'd be like, 'Dad, push the ball up! Dad, I'm open! Dad, come on!” said LeBron.
LeBron And Bronny's Current Deals
LeBron James is entering his seventh season with the LA Lakers and is on a $104 Million contract after he agreed to return to the team for two years. His contract also includes a player option for 2025-2026 with no trade option. As for his son Bronny James, he is on a four year, $7.9 Million deal with a team option for the final year of his contract.
