Francis Ngannou slams Tyson Fury for using illegal move
Francis Ngannou dropped Tyson Fury to the canvas in the third round with a powerful left hook. Fury managed to recover and complete the full 10 rounds, with the judges determining the winner. Although Fury was declared the victor, the decision was close, with one judge scoring it 95-94 in favor of Ngannou and the other two judges giving scores in Fury's favor, 96-93 and 95-94.
The victory's legitimacy has been called into question not only because of Ngannou's knockdown and the subsequent split decision but also due to an incident in which Fury appeared to land an elbow on Ngannou, an illegal move in boxing, during the fight. Tyson Fury will not fight Francis Ngannou in a rematch
While many have called the decision a robbery for not letting Ngannou win a match that he clearly dominated, others are calling for a rematch due to the nature of the contest. However, Fury seems uninterested in that prospect and is already looking ahead to a bout with Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk, who was present at the Riyadh fight on Saturday and expressed his desire to face the Gypsy King in an undisputed heavyweight title match. Both fighters maintain undefeated records.
