Eden Hazard's much anticipated Galactico transfer to Real Madrid back in 2019 turned out to be a complete disaster for both club and the player as the Belgian star winger failed to ever hit the ground running. The situation got so worse that Real Madrid decided to terminate Eden Hazard's contract in 2023 despite a year still remaining.
There were a lot of question marks around how the best player in the premier league and one of the best players in the world since 2019 turned out to be a such a big flop for the club. Real Madrid's manager Carlo Ancelotti recently opened up on the biggest problem behind Eden Hazard's failure at Real Madrid.

Eden Hazard's career at Real Madrid was ravaged with injuries and once he got fit it was too late as he couldn't gel with the team and neither break into the starting xi or even come on and make an impact as a substitute for Carlo Ancelotti's side in his final two seasons with Los Blancos.
Carlo Ancelotti recently made an appearance on podcast with Relevo and on the Spanish show he opened up on why Eden Hazard failed at Real Madrid.

According to Carlo Ancelotti, aside from injuries Eden Hazard's big problem was not being able to compete properly and train at the highest level.

“His problem was injuries, of course, but he also had difficulty competing. You have to train intensely in training when you are not playing. It was difficult for him to compete, fight and play,” said Carlo Ancelotti on why Eden Hazard failed.
Eden Hazard in his four seasons at Real Madrid was only able to play 76 matches, scoring just 7 goals and providing 12 assists. Despite his lack of form, Eden Hazard was a loved figure in the dressing room. After Real Madrid terminated his contract, Eden Hazard announced his retirement from football.
