Chelsea Transfer Bombshell: Club In Talks To Sign Striker Touted To Be Next Didier Drogba

Chelsea have enjoyed a highly eventful Summer transfer window as they have completed signing of at least 10 players with the likes of Pedro Neto, Joao Felix all joining the club on permanent deals. 

With just days remaining before the transfer deadline, Todd Boehly's team is far from done in the transfer market and are plotting a sensational move to sign star striker who former manager Jose Mourinho touted as the perfect replacement for Didier Drogba. 

Chelsea plots sensational swoop for star player 

Chelsea dismantled Wolves 6-2 in their last Premier League game but they still need a second striker to pair up alongside Nicolas Jackson.

According to reports by Fabrizio Romano, the Stamford Bridge outfit is in direct talks with star Napoli striker Victor Osimhen in a sensational transfer move. 

As per the report, Chelsea and Osimhen's camp are having direct discussions to agree personal terms with the Nigerian striker. Once, terms are agreed, the Blues are expected to make an official bid close to 65 Million pounds. 

Chelsea have kept on Victor Osimhen's situation all summer and could now beat Saudi Pro League side Al Alhi.

Victor Osimhen touted to be Drogba's replacement

Victor Osimhen has scored 65 goals in 108 Serie  A games for Napoli and is considered to be one of the most prolific strikers in Europe. 

Former Blues manager and legend Jose Mourinho in the past had backed top clubs to sign Osimhen in the past. 

“I'd buy him if I was at a club with a lot of money. Osimhen is a lot like Drogba, he's on Drogba's level,” said Jose Mourinho in the past about Victor Osimhen.

Chelsea's interest in Ivan Toney 

Chelsea are actively looking in the transfer window for a top quality striker and if they're unable to complete Victor Osimhen's deal, they are interested in bringing in Brentford striker Ivan Toney. 

Chelsea will be looking to sign Ivan Toney given his wage demands and transfer fee are affordable.
