With a strong 2-0 triumph against Al-Taawoun FC, Al-Nassr FC guaranteed a place in the Saudi Super Cup final. Early breaking the deadlock, Ayman Yahya netted the opening goal in the eighth minute, establishing Al-Nassr's dominance. In the 57th minute, Cristiano Ronaldo secured the deal with a goal. With Marcelo Brozovič getting a red card in the 90+3rd minute, Al-Taawoun's chances suffered further. The game took place at the Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz Stadium, and Al-Taawoun and Al-Nassr displayed an explosive duel with sixteen shots apiece.

Cristiano Ronaldo scores his first goal of the season to propel Al-Nassr into the Saudi Super Cup final

Leading Al-Nassr to the Saudi Super Cup final with a 2-0 triumph against Al-Taawoun on Wednesday, August 14, Cristiano Ronaldo, the captain, expressed his delight after he scored an incredible goal, this marked his first goal of the 2024/25 season. Al-Nassr will now be facing Al-Hilal in the championship, set for Saturday, August 17.

When Ayman Yahya scored inside the first eight minutes, the Knights of Najd led early. Ronaldo netted the ball 12 minutes into the second half, thereby extending their lead with his first goal of the season. With Al-Hilal, who had earlier outperformed Luis Castro's squad in the Saudi Pro League and the King's Cup final last season, easily keeping their advantage, Luis Castro's team set up a challenge.

Ronaldo posted a set of pictures on Twitter following his victory over Al-Taawoun, catching times of celebration with his teammates throughout the game.

Cristiano Ronaldo and his side had a 2-1 loss against Al-Hilal in the semi-finals of the Super Cup during the previous season. Salem Al-Dawsari scored the first goal for Al-Hilal in the 61st minute, ending the match's scoreless state. After a duration of eleven minutes, Malcolm increased the margin of their advantage.

Although Sadio Mane scored a goal in the ninth minute of added time, it was insufficient for Castro's team to advance in the competition. One year later, Al-Nassr is determined to achieve a different result against the reigning Super Cup champions. Al-Hilal, who emerged victorious in their semi-final match against Al-Ahli Saudi with a 4-1 penalty shootout win following a 1-1 draw, now poses as an obstacle for them.
