Ronaldinho, undoubtedly one of the finest Brazilian footballers in history, has left an indelible mark on the sport with his unparalleled contributions and unforgettable skillset. His artistry and flair on the pitch set him apart, captivating fans worldwide. Ronaldinho's lasting legacy transcends mere statistics, embodying the essence of football as a blend of creativity, joy, and exceptional talent that continues to inspire future generations of players.
Brazil's chances at Copa America 2024 have been questioned by Ronaldinho, who also said he has no interest in seeing them play in the United States of America. His assessment of Seleção prospects was anything from upbeat.
The Barcelona great was adamantly uninterested when asked what he thought of Dorival Junior's team for the competition this summer. Ronaldinho made it plain that he will not be attending any of his country's games (via @SelecaoTalk). Ronaldinho said:
“I'm not going to watch any of the games, everything is missing, determination, joy, not playing well. I’m not even going to watch one game.”
Copa America 2024 finds Brazil in the middle of a difficult time. Having only won two of their previous eight games, they are currently ranked sixth in the South American 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying standings.
With just one Copa America championship in the previous 17 years, the Seleção will fight this year without Neymar. The leading scorer of the five-time World Champions is still healing from a cruciate ligament rupture that he suffered during National duty in 2023 against Uruguay a World Cup qualifier match.
Ronaldinho may be sceptical, but Brazil is likely to go beyond the group stages under Dorival Junior's direction. They take against Costa Rica on June 25, Paraguay on June 29, and Colombia on July 3 in Group D to begin their campaign.
Vinicius Junior, who just finished an incredible season with Real Madrid, is a current Ballon d'Or favourite. The team is young, and Rodrygo, Endrick, and Raphinha are among the players in a very potent assault.
Legends like Ronaldo Nazario, Rivaldo, and Roberto Carlos were teammates of Ronaldinho in the 2002 World Cup and 1999 Copa America squads.
Though they may not yet live up to the legendary standards established by those greats, the present generation of Brazilian players has a great deal of promise. The squad is under a lot of pressure to perform well in the middle of a dismal run, but the young players give optimism for a good performance in Copa America 2024.
