"It's the goal against.." Lionel Messi unveils favorite career goal after winning 8th Ballon d'Or

On Tuesday, October 31st, at the Theatre du Chatelet in Paris, France, the 67th annual Ballon d'Or ceremony occurred. The most notable of these is Lionel Messi winning his 8th Ballon d’Or at the age of 36. He had the biggest highlight of his career last year when he won the FIFA World Cup 2022 with Argentina.

Lionel Messi has said his favourite goal is his 2011 Champions League semi-final smashing run and finish against Real Madrid. This iconic goal showcases Messi's ball handling and finishing. 

This Monday, he received his 8th Ballon d'Or, the year's finest player award. Messi picked this goal to honour his effort against Real Madrid, even though he has scored many great ones. During an interview. He said: 

 "A goal that I always remember, and I don't go much for the goal, and what the goals mean, it's the goal against Real Madrid, which we beat 2-0 in the Champions League semi-final at the Bernabeu," 

Currently, Lionel Messi is training with Inter Miami and is reported to play a few friendly matches before the MLS season re-starts in February 2024.
