Portugal vs France Predicted XI: Will Kylian Mbappe and Cristiano Ronaldo Start In Euro 2024 QF?

Portugal and France are all set to face each other in the Quarterfinal of Euro 2024 at the Volksparkstadion in Hamburg. Heading into the game the biggest talking point is certainly going to be the face off between arguably the greatest footballer of all time in Cristiano Ronaldo and arguably the best footballer in the world currently in Kylian Mbappe. 

Cristiano Ronaldo and Kylian Mbappe will captain their respective nations in the Quarterfinal between Portugal and France and the match promises to be a highly thrilling affair. 

There is no denying that Portugal and France have not been impressive in Euro 2024 till now and both teams have struggled to win games convincingly. Neither Cristiano Ronaldo or Kylian Mbappe have performed to the level that is expected of them. While, Ronaldo has failed to score a goal in the tournament, Mbappe has only netted once that too via a penalty.

Is Kylian Mbappe starting tonight vs Portugal?

Kylian Mbappe's Euro 2024 campaign started with a big scare as he broke his nose in the opening encounter against Austria. There was fear that he would miss the tournament, but Mbappe has avoided surgery and is back in the starting lineup for the squad. 

Ahead of the game, Mbappe admitted that he was not in his best physical shape but that is no excuse and he should be one of the first names on the team sheet for Didier Deschamps.  

Should Cristiano Ronaldo start for Portugal vs France?

There is a big question mark on the level Cristiano Ronaldo is operating at Euro 2024. He missed a penalty against Slovenia in extra time however he did go on to score the very first penalty in the shootout for Portugal.  

Despite his patchy form given the magnitude of the game there remains no doubt that Cristiano Ronaldo should start in crunch Quarterfinal game.
