Vinicius Jr Unselfish Gesture For Kylian Mbappe In Real Madrid's La Liga Win Over Wins Hearts

There were big doubts surrounding the relationship between Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Jr after both the players were struggling to adapt to each other's styles in the first three La Liga games for Real Madrid as their team struggled massively. 

However, all those doubts were shrugged off when Kylian Mbappe scored a brace for Real Madrid to lead them to a 2-0 victory over Real Betis on Sunday. While, Mbappe was among the goals, it was Vinicius Jr who won all the hearts for his incredibly unselfish gesture for Kylian. 

Vinicius Jr's gesture for Kylian Mbappe wins hearts 

Real Madrid had struggled dearly in their first three La Liga games and were struggling once again at home against Real Betis until Kylian Mbappe pounced on a beautiful Fede Valverde backheel pass to hand his side a 1-0 lead in the 67th minute. 

In the 76th minute of the game, Vinicius Jr was brought down by the Betis goalkeeper inside the box and after a VAR check Real Madrid were awarded a penalty. Everyone expected Vinicius Jr to take the penalty given he had taken one in the last game against Las Palmas. 

But instead the Brazilian told Kylian Mbappe to take the penalty and pointed to fans to support him. Kylian Mbappe stepped up and converted the penalty to make it 2-0 and Vinicius Jr ran to celebrate his new teammate. 

The gesture by Vinicius Jr has gone on to win hearts of loads of fans on the internet as they laughed off any suggestions that there was a rift among the stars. 

Real Madrid will now head into the International Break with much confidence owing from their 2-0 win.
