The 38-year-old still enjoys a worldwide fandom and people often take drastic measures in order to meet their idol. A bizarre incident recently took place during Portugal's European Qualifiers game against Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Portugal became one of the first countries to secure a berth in next summer's Euro 2024 and Ronaldo will likely lead the team in the Continental championship. During the game, a pitch invader managed to get through the security cordon and almost jumped on the 39-year-old in a bid to click a selfie. Security personnel were quick to react as they removed him from the pitch but in the proceedings, the Al-Nassr forward might have hurt himself. Video footage suggested that the stewards might have stepped on Ronaldo's foot and the player appeared to be limping after the incident.

Ronaldo was later called off at the stroke of 65th minute and it remains to be seen if the legendary Portuguese suffered any injuries or not. This has now happened in two consecutive matches as against Slovakia too a pitch invader tried to reach Ronaldo, but security promptly caught the man on the sidelines.
Ronaldo further extended his tally as he scored a brace as Portugal blanked Bosnia 5-0. Bruno Fernandes, Joao Cancelo and Joao Felix also were on target as the Portuguese continued their effortless European Qualifiers campaign. Ronaldo also became the top scorer of 2023 with 40 goals as he surpassed Erling Haaland, who managed to reach one less than the former Manchester United forward.
