'It would be a beautiful story': F1 World Champion Max Verstappen lifts the lid on Red Bull future

Current champion Max Verstappen has maintained his stronghold in his esteemed Formula One career. He finally opened up on his Red Bull future.

Max Verstappen has maintained his stronghold in his esteemed Formula One career. The 26-year-old stamped his authority further with his third F1 championship this season and if he stays on his path, he could well challenge the likes of Lewis Hamilton and Michael Schumacher. The Dutchman has been the face of Red Bull since he burst onto the scene.

Max Verstappen lifts the lid on his Red Bull future

Verstappen spanned afresh deal in 2022 which will keep him with Red Bull at least until the 2028 season should he honour the contract. There have also been reports of a potential retirement of Verstappen when his current contract ends. The youngster has churned out consistent performances and will challenge the legacy of many Formula One racers as things stand.

Verstappen shed light on his future as he insisted it would be a beautiful story if he could stay at Red Bull forever. As quoted by Sky Sports F1 he said, “It would be a beautiful story if I could drive here forever, that's for sure, something that will be amazing.

"I'm really happy with where I am. I feel at home, I feel really happy with the people who are very close to me here in the team. For me, this is not something that I need to seek. I have a few more years left on my contract anyway, so I'm just enjoying the moment."

Max Verstappen also opened up his retirement plans

There are questions over his desire to compete in this sport for a long time but the player revealed he will not continue for the sake of breaking the Formula One record.

'I'll do it as long as I like it and that I, you know, when I look at myself in the mirror and I can tell myself that I'm fully committed and 100 per cent going to go for it.'

"Once that day arrives where I can't be fully committed anymore, that's where I'm going to stop because then you're not in it anymore. I find passion is incredibly important to be successful, because every time I come to the track, I want to win, I want to try to do the best I can."
