Formula One 2024 Season: Full list of winners and schedule after Max Verstappen wins Canadian GP
The current world champion raced all the way to the finish line at Canadian GP, with Norris coming in second following a close finish with Russell.
After a difficult Monaco Grand Prix, Max Verstappen and Red Bull triumphed in an exciting Canadian Grand Prix. After overcoming several Safety Car periods, rain showers, restarts, and a formidable challenge from behind, Verstappen successfully led Lando Norris home to claim the victory.
In the early rainy stages, Max Verstappen trailed pole-sitting Mercedes driver George Russell until circumstances improved and a charging Lando Norris passed both of them. But the McLaren driver was demoted to third by an unfortunate Safety Car that was brought on by Logan Sargeant's collision.
Max Verstappen skillfully handled the restart and controlled more rain to hold onto his lead once he had cleared Russell. He maintained this lead until the race moved to slick tires as the track dried and after another Safety Car period brought on by a collision between Carlos Sainz and Alex Albon.
The current world champion raced all the way to the finish line, with Norris coming in second following a close finish with Russell. After some late squabbling with teammate Lewis Hamilton and Oscar Piastri's other McLaren, Russell eventually settled for third.
