The McLaren F1 team is currently in contention to win both the Drivers Championship and the Constructors Championship as they look to close the gap and overtake Red Bull Racing in the Championship standings. The Red Bull team is facing a massive loss of performance which has led to them struggling to even get on the podium in the last few races. McLaren CEO Zak Brown believes that McLaren can do a clean sweep of the championships and go back to their title-winning ways like before.

If Piastri and Norris can get the team to a Championship, then it will be the first for the team since 1998.

Brown Eyeing A Clean Sweep

McLaren CEO Zak Brown expects a clean sweep of the Championships and all of the remaining races of the season.

"I don't see why we can't be going for the win every race weekend.

"We are going to have tough competition, but we have shown that our car is good in all kinds of conditions, on all different types of circuits.

"We were very strong in Singapore last year, and Baku is always a bit of a crazy race, but we are going to show up every weekend and go for pole, the front-row lockout, and try to win.

"I'm sure it won't quite work like that for the next eight races, but the competition is stiff," Brown told Sky Sports F1.

Ferrari Being The Third In Contention

Ferrari is currently acting as a thorn in the side of Red Bull and McLaren as Ferrari is right behind McLaren and Red Bull with 407 points in the Constructors Championship.

"What we have is a three-way race for the constructors' championship.

"Because Ferrari is 31 points behind - but [in the Italian Grand Prix], it was them and us [fighting for the win].

"It is exciting to see what will happen and it is good for Formula 1," said Zak Brown in his statement.
