UFC 306: Titles Change Hands as History was made at the Sphere in Las Vegas

The UFC 306 was an absolute showcase for Mexico as it celebrated its heritage and showcased Mexican pride. Two massive title matches were on the line, and the main card did not disappoint by a bit. In the co-main event, Valentina Shevchenko defeated Alexa Grasso of Mexico over the course of five rounds to reclaim the UFC flyweight title.

In the main event, Sean O'Malley and Merab Dvalishvili locked horns for the title, and Dvalishvili was an absolute beast against Suga Sean. A title win was something which the Russian striker had been waiting for a long time, and he looked to have fun against Sean, who particularly struggled throughout the contest. In the end, Dvalishvili was elected as the winner and was crowned as the new bantamweight champion via unanimous decision.

Dvalishvili defeated his fourth consecutive former champion to have an eleven-fight winning streak. He also overtook Aljamain Sterling's record for the longest UFC bantamweight win streak (10 wins). O'Malley's run of seven straight victories came to an end.
