India Beat USA in Medal Tally: India Climb 9 Places Above US in Paris Paralympics 2024 Standings

Thanks to Avani Lekhara and Mona Agarwal's double-podium finish at the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games, India has entered the official medal tally with a bang.

Shooters Avani Lekhara and Mona Agarwal have opened India's account at the ongoing Paris Paralympics 2024 by winning silver and bronze medals respectively. Avani and Mona won the medals in the Women's 10m Air Rifle Standing SH1 final on Friday. While Avani Lekhara finished with a score of 249.7, bettering her own Paralympic Record of 249.6 from Tokyo 2020, Mona Agarwal registered a score of 228.7, winning her first Paralympic medal.

Paris Paralympics 2024: Medal Tally

China is currently the No. 1 ranked nation with five medals - four gold and one silver. Great Britain is ranked No. 2 with six medals, including two gold, three silver, and one bronze. Italy has won the most medals in the competition so far but is ranked No. 3. Italy has nine medals but most of them are bronze - two gold, two silver, and 5 bronze.  

The most interesting development so far is that India is above the United States in the Paris Paralympics medal table. India is ranked ninth in the table, while the USA is ranked 18th.
